L’OCA Quality Market, ORO, and PYRO are proud to source premium marbled, full carcass North Country Beef from Brad Jespersen’s family farm, located just outside of Mayerthorpe, Alberta.

Brad oversees an Angus/Hereford ‘Black Baldy’ crossbreeding program aimed at consistently producing PREMIUM marbled beef, that ranks among the TOP 2% IN ALL OF CANADA!

North Country’s longer, slower feeding and finishing period, ranging between 18 to 30 months, combined with an optimized diet formulated according to the needs of each cow,  allows for natural growth and produces the highest quality, heavier, and better-muscled animals.

L’OCA Quality Market dry-ages full carcasses from North Country in-store to create a more tender and flavourful product, that’s available at our butcher counter and in our restaurants.
